We are pleased to announce Lovie Hall Cunningham as our new Interim Executive Director of Samuel Walker Houston Museum and Cultural Center (SWHMCC). She is taking the helm at an opportune time, as we emerge from the pandemic and look to the future.

 

Lovie brings a wealth of experience in corporate America with several Fortune 500 companies. For most of her career, she has worked within the technology area leading teams to provide technical support, business solutions  and consultation to clients across the country.

 

Lovie is a hometown girl who has recently moved back home to Huntsville from Denver, CO. She is a proud graduate of Sam Houston High School, continuing her education by marticulaing at Prairie View A&M University where she majored in Mathematics and Physics. With additional graduate study at  University of Colorado, Boulder and University of Denver.

After her retirement from IBM, she has devoted her time and energy to community engagement work in the communities of San Mateo, CA and Denver, CO.

 

Lovie said “ when I decided to come back home, I wanted to give back and serve by using my skills and expertise to the community that gave so much to me many years ago. I am honored and grateful for this opportunity to serve as the Executive Director of this organization. I am excited!”

 

In Lovie, we’ve found a passionate, committed and experienced  leader.
