Gospel Explosion 2024

Thursday, July 18, 2024

First Missionary Baptist Church 1530 10th Street, Huntsville, TX

This year's Gospel Explosion is dedicated in memory of Mrs. Delois Doggett Merchant, graduate of Samuel Walker Houston High School, Class of 1964.  She took great pride and joy in chairing the Thursday night Gospel Musical Program and her Class of 1964 hosting the program during the Biennial Reunion.  She was looking forward to the 2024 Reunion and even during her illness would come by the Center or call to see what she could do to help.  We miss those visits and phone calls.

Join us in honoring her memory.  Her favorite Gospel Group, JOY, is in the house tonight.  Her son Keith is a faithful member of this group of fine, God fearing young men.

African-AmericanCalendar ofRacial Injustices

Expand your knowledge and understanding of African American history with this beautiful large wall calendar.  This is not your ordinary run of the mill calendar, but rather the months of the calendar cites various incidents of racial injustices toward African Americans.

It is a must for anyone who wish to know of these events.  It is also a wonderful teaching tool so that all who views it will know of these things and hopefully will never forget; moreover, you will not want to throw this calendar away at the end of the year.

There is a limited supply available, so get your calendar before they are gone!!!

Call the Samuel W. Houston Museum and Cultural Center to  reserve this wonderful item.
